Real Evangelion Kimonos Announced!
For the first time in history, Tokyo Otaku mode (TOM) will be working with real kimono artists to create 100 rare, limited edition long-sleeved kimono. These kimono are unique in that the designs they sport will be based off of the characters from "Evangelion: 3.0 You Can Not Redo".
Currently they are holding an open voting platform till October 31st that offer 6 different styles as to which kimono you would like. You can vote here. The results will be announced in mid-November.
The six patterns are featured below, check them out. A bit about these full graphic kimono is that they are going to be produced with a digitial dyeing method that blends ancient dyeing techniques with modern technology.
Each stange of the kimono making process will only be touched by skilled kimono artisans from cloth selection and cutting, to dyeing to tailoring and more.
